Local Woman Completes Trophy of the Mountains for Canine Partners

Jenny Brown from West Malling has successfully completed the gruelling cani-cross event, Trophy of the Mountains, raising over £300 towards her target of £5000 for Canine Partners.

Jenny and her beagle Tiga took part in eleven races across the French Alps in August, taking them to altitudes of 2000m above sea level and including three night races. Canine cross-country is a sport whereby the dog runs in front, attached to the owner. This meant Jenny, a member of Ashford Athletic Club, was being led up and down forest tracks, avalanche routes, a course with 21 bends and much more by the brave Tiga!

After eight hours of competition over the duration of event, Jenny & Tiga came fourth overall in the category for women over 50 including first place in two of the races.

Jenny comments, “We did it and it was an amazing experience, I can’t wait to do it again next year. We took part in 11 races, over nine days, covering 71kms, 3430m ascent, 2150m descent plus altitude between 710m & 2040m! This is just part of my quest to raise funds for Canine Partners, an amazing charity that gives so much to people with disabilities so come on, make a donation!”
